Our Google Ad Manager Integration 2.0 release removes limitations for larger Google Ad Manager accounts and certain servers.
The technical solution includes changes in the workflow of all accounts. Read on if you couldn’t use the extension for technical reasons or are a regular user of this feature.
Import ad units
The option to import ad units from your GAM account and automatically converts them into ads within Advanced Ads will now only show up if your Google Ad Manager account has fewer than 50 ad units.
Searching for ad units
When your Google Ad Manager account has more than 50 ad units, the list of these units no longer shows on the ad edit page.
Instead, you will find the “Search ad units” button to look for each ad unit.
Accounts with less than 50 ad units will still import the list once the account is connected in the plugin settings.
In both cases, the new search option has to be used to add new ad units to Advanced Ads.
Ad unit options
The ad unit list now comes with an update and a delete option.
The update option checks if the ad unit has changed in your Google Ad Manager account. The most common cases are changes in ad sizes.
The delete option helps to keep the ad unit list short and relevant to used ads. If you remove an ad unit still used in another ad, it will continue to work and show a warning on the ad edit page.
Removing an ad unit from the ad edit page does not affect it in your Google Ad Manager account.
