If you see the This ad type can currently not be imported from AdSense warning then please read the following.
Advanced Ads now comes with a new option to get all your ad units from your AdSense account automatically. While this feature can save you a lot of time, it comes with certain limitations.
AdSense has a few ad types called “native” that are rather new, like Matched Content, In-article, and In-feed. Their technical team did not find the time yet to allow getting those ads automatically.
You can help to make this a priority on their end. Just comment below this post that you would like to have access to those native ad formats. We will forward that feedback and make the AdSense-world a bit better for all of us.
Update: comments are closed now. despite your overwhelming feedback, AdSense decided to not update the API and focus on other projects. Feel free to contact them directly and let them know that this decision might not benefit all publishers.
How can you use native AdSense ads now?
- Like before we implemented this feature, just click on Insert new AdSense code and copy in the code you get from within your AdSense account.
- Just leave the ad slot ID option empty, select a content ad type like Normal or Responsive and enter the ad size to create a new ad on the fly in Advanced Ads. No need to do this through your AdSense account unless you want to have ad specific performance reports
- Select a content ad from the list of available ads (e.g., Responsive, Normal or Link Unit).
